Rosie from the whitebait connection came to our class to talk to us about the importance of looking after our water. We were shocked to learn how little of the earths water is fresh water that we drink. If the earth's fresh water was a bottle, it is only a drop that we can drink! (0.003%)

We saw photos of pollution in our rivers and how this shifts to the sea. Oil, poo, sprays and factory waste all wash into our rivers via storm water drains. If we planted lots of trees around the rivers the roots would soak up all the pollution and hold the soil in the riverbank.

We found we could make a difference straight away by washing our cars and cleaning our paint brushes on the grass so the grass cleans the water before it goes into the drain.

I thought it was awesome listening to Rosie because I learnt something I could do to make a difference.
