Art Exhibition at Waitangi!

Over the last 2 years Room 11 have been involved in a digital education program that was fully funded by Te Papa in Wellington. Raranga Matihiko has been extended for next year and will provide opportunities for Kaikohe West students to once again be involved in digital creations about their heritage. There is a gallery exhibition open for a month starting today at the education centre at Waitangi showcasing outstanding work from students. It is free for anyone to view. Teaumihi, Jordon, Justice and Bevan have all been chosen to have their work displayed.

This morning we were on a hangout with Mrs Smith who is teaching in Cairo.

Room 11 students are so creative in their own time. 😃😃😃

These are the lunch time writers who are so into writing their stories they can't possibly stop and play. They are very enthusiastic.

Yesterday Sasha from the art gallery in town came in for the second session to help us finish our lights we are making out of coke bottles. These will be used to light the xmas tree for the town next year. Lots of us are going to try this at home!

This morning room 11 had time in room 1 where they all have access to a chromebook and can explore robotics together. Today they are learning how to use edblocks software to program their robots to do different things. It is wonderful that each child can use their own robot and have a go together.

Room 11 won a huge robotics prize for the school by playing crunchtime which is a game teaching how electricity works by genesis energy.

Room 11 are sharpening their problem solving skills. This workshop is using what, why and how questions with each other to figure out how electrical circuits work.

Room 11 are working together to create booklets for information they are learning about Matariki.
