Room 2 love to take turns being the teacher and reading to the others especially in the sun after swimming.

It's a game, it is te reo,  it's fun, exciting and hilarious! Lincoln visited our class to play and he won all the time just by being cheeky! Whaea Koryna is something to look forward to on a Friday.

 Groups are starting to work on ideas for art sculptures for Pappy's garden. They are needing to consider materials suitable to stand up to rain. They need to think about wind and how they will stand or be displayed. They are collecting and sharing their ideas for design too. Next week they will apply for any materials they need as a budget request.

Miss Nicola went on a course in the weekend to learn about how to teach digital technology to her students. Learning about how a computer works enables us to make decisions about technology and empowers us to think of ways we can use computers to become more innovative.

Room 2 are learning about how a computer works and using reading and writing to research and communicate their findings.

WALT identify NZ native birds and remember their different features and habitats.
We were able to look at the different birds and work out what they eat from their features because this makes them more successful at feeding on this food.

This is our shared reading time and we read to each other and have to guess what word will be on the end of a verse because it rhymes!
Reading with expression makes it easier to understand.

Learning tables the fun way!

Room 2 have invented their own way of learning their tables so they are really fast at them. They use a song from the Islands to start their chant and then each person must add the next number in the sequence. They are learning all the tables from the 2x to the 10x this way.

Room 7 visit
