Everyone in the school made a hand to help make our wreath on whānaungatanga day. This will go in the shop window for the community xmas show.

Getting to know each other again over some fun activities. 

 

Helping each other with reading in the afternoons is relaxing.

 

 He followed the slowly sinking sun, his forehead knotted with worry. Dressed like a ragamuffin, he pulled out a small folded piece of paper: crumpled around the corners from his holey ripped pocket. He began to read the directions to the treasure. His voice trailed off as he stumbled on his way to the dilapidated cottage on the hill.

The room was utterly silent. Eerie shadows skulked across his face from the his cigarette lighter. He made his way to the far room and fumbled with the latch. His chest ached with sadness and fear. He knew it was a perilous situation. Dark clouds gathered in his heart replacing the empty void. All hopes dropped instantly as the handle broke but the lock mechanism didn't. He was trapped!

We are building Sharn's drift trike. We are trying to build it quick enough so he can ride it. I enjoyed putting the pedal in. I had to screw it in and it was fun. Whare

I had to  help put the tyre on. I like using the screws. It is fun. I do this at home with the dirt bikes. Archie

 

Whare takes a subertising group. It was fun to play especially with Hemi and David because they are learning. Whare

If  we share ideas, if we help each other, if we make learning a joy for each other then we will learn more and learn faster.

We do this each day to share our experiences with each other. It is fun to learn about each other.

 

Mural group planning for the next taniwha mural for the school.

It's challenging trying to get the design you want. I like designing the background and am thinking how to create a sea. William

It's hard to make the taniwha stand out: you have to use darks and lights and brighter colours. Braxton

I like blending with the pastels and etching my designs in. Sophie

I like doing the eyes. There are lots of different colours in eyes and you can make them scary. Frankie

Today we used chalk and counters to find fractions of sets. Olive says she likes it because we got to draw on the carpet! She discovered using times tables was the fastest way to do this.

 

Bling Bling is cool as! I like the painting. It glows in the dark and it is a fun activity. It teaches me how to draw and paint. I like the painting the most because when you do it you concentrate on it and it gets easier. By Whare
