Apina and Sharlane share their specialist knowledge with us on occasion and we are richer for the experiences. They have made a huge difference to our reading levels by running the Toe by Toe program for groups who need to learn their sounds. This is a big shout out "Thank you" to these lovely ladies from Room 11.

Art Class by Skylah

I believe that we should have a art class in school. An art class is a creative place full of imagination
and passion where I can feel free! You can build up your art skills! Art class is a great place for
friendship, communication and making connections. You and your friends can teach each other your
own techniques. I represent my creativeness when I draw. My passion leads to art, that’s why I
strongly believe that we should have an art class.

We need a Gym By Kayne

I think Kaikohe west school should build a gym because it would be fun.

Firstly we should have a gym because one day you could be representing your school and it will
motivate you to get fit. You can also defend yourself but if you just go around looking for trouble,
well they can leave. And you help other people lift heavy things like boxes if they’re new to your
neighbourhood. If you’re passionate about sport particularly rugby, well you can practice that in the
gym. You can also build skill on arm and leg strength.

So I think we should have a gym because you can get fit, have fun, be motivated, have passion
and help others.
